Pediatric Occupational Therapist

First Steps Nursing and Therapy is looking to hire registered Occupational Therapists to provide in home therapy services to children in San Antonio, Texas and the surrounding areas.At First Steps Nursing and Therapy we are committed to serving the disadvantaged and the disabled youth population. Our values consist of integrity, compassion, and excellence, which are reflected in the day to day business operations of the company and our clinicians.Job Summary:The therapist is a qualified professional person who directs, supervises, evaluates and provides therapy services to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.Qualifications: Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as a Certified Occupational TherapistOne (1) full year of work experience preferredPediatric and home health experience is preferred (not required)Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Familiarity with Kantime and EVVResponsibilities :Conduct evaluations and complete evaluation reports in timely mannerPlan activities and provide occupational therapy servicesRecord type of treatment and patient’s reaction to it on clinical/progress notes and incorporated in the patient’s record weekly.Maintain adequate records on all patient’s, including summary reportsUtilize community resources and Agency personnel for proper referralAttend case conferences as requested Participate in staff development activities and in-service education as requestedConfirm, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Therapy Coordinator to coordinate necessary visits with other personnelParticipate with staff, patient, and physician in discharge planning activitiesSkills:The required and preferred skills are essential for delivering high-quality therapeutic care and ensuring positive patient outcomes. Clinical expertise allows therapists to accurately assess patient needs and design effective treatment plans tailored to individual goals. Strong communication skills facilitate clear explanations of therapy techniques and foster collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and families.
