PDM Specialist

About the position The PDM Specialist at Actalent is responsible for implementing and managing the Product Data Management (PDM) system, ensuring its integration with the Solidworks environment. This role focuses on data migration, vault setup, and supporting remote access for engineering suppliers, while collaborating with various departments to meet long-term needs and support mechanical design projects. Responsibilities • Implement and manage the PDM system, including setting up vaults, data cards, metadata fields, and user access. • Migrate existing data into the PDM system, ensuring data integrity and proper organization. • Support remote access for engineering suppliers and manage workflows related to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the PDM system supports their needs and integrates seamlessly with ongoing projects. • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the PDM system, addressing any issues or bugs that arise. • Develop and implement part numbering schemes and rev control concepts within the PDM system. • Work on long-term projects to enhance the PDM system and support future growth. Requirements • Extensive experience with Solidworks PDM, including implementation, administration, and maintenance. • Proven ability to migrate and manage large datasets within a PDM system, ensuring data integrity and proper organization. • Experience setting up and managing remote access for engineering suppliers and collaborating with external teams. • Solidworks PDM Administration certification preferred. • Experience with Mechanical Design and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Nice-to-haves • Experience with AutoCAD. • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing. • Strong understanding of part numbering schemes and revision control concepts.
