About the Opportunity

Location: Work is what you do, not where you go. For this role, we are open to remote work and can hire anywhere in Germany.

Dayforce is seeking a Payroll Specialist responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes including validation, auditing, and completion of payroll activities. This role requires building strong client relationships, resolving employee and client queries within defined SLAs, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of German payroll legislation.

What You’ll Get to Do

Ensure all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax and benefits, are processed, reconciled, audited, and delivered accurately and on time.

Process payroll changes, payments, and payroll runs for assigned clients.

Perform quality control and auditing to maintain high accuracy and low error rates.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll issues and employee inquiries.

Provide HR and payroll support services in line with contractual, regulatory, and business requirements.

Create, update, and review standard operating procedures, including quarterly documentation reviews.

Take full ownership of deliverables and projects from initiation through completion.

Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and act on them.

Skills and Experience We Value

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in German payroll.

Strong German and English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience managing high-volume payroll environments (3,000+ employees).

Ability to work directly with clients and resolve complex issues using critical thinking.

Strong understanding of quality control and auditing standards.

Up-to-date knowledge of German tax and social insurance regulations.

Experience with German payroll systems such as LoGa, SAP, or Paisy.

Customer-focused mindset with a proactive, self-driven approach.

Ability to collaborate globally with teams across Europe and North America.

What Would Make You Stand Out

Experience working with collective bargaining agreements (Tarifverträge).

Knowledge of SV.net.

Experience with Dayforce or similar cloud-based payroll systems.
