Attabotics is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with fulfillment centers across the United States and Canada.The RoleOur Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely payment of all employee compensation and provides support to employees, managers, and both the People & Culture (P&C) and Finance teams.This role requires someone that is detail oriented, curious and is able to work with all levels of leadership and staff across the company. Who you are Completed post secondary education in Finance/ Accounting/ Payroll Administration or equivalentCanadian payroll certification or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in a high paced environmentExperience with and proficiency in payroll software systems, with UKG Pro experience a definite assetProficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on ExcelStrong functional knowledge of legislative requirements for multiple-state and multi-provincial payroll, experience with US payroll would be an assetMust be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional mannerStrong work ethic, positive team attitude, attention to detail and a high degree of accuracySound analytical thinking, problem solving, planning, prioritization, and execution skills Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor What we need Preparation and administration of semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salary staff plus any required off cycle payrolls for employees based in the US (multi-state) and CanadaInput payroll data accurately in UKG Pro including new hire information, terminations, and payroll changes on a regular basis, making adjustments as requiredResolve issues related to payroll questions and provide recommendation on best practices related to new payroll codes or allowancesImplement salary increases, bonuses, and so on in accordance with company policies and instructions provided.Prepare journal entries and required reconciliations after each payrollEnsure Record of Employment forms are issued for separations of employmentComply with requirements as set out by outside entities, such as Employment Standards and tax agenciesProvide subject matter expertise to the P&C and Finance teams ensuring quality service and timely resolution, ensuring they are supportedBe responsible for maintaining and continuously improving procedures and processes concerning all aspects of payrollPrepare and distribute year end reports including T4s and W2s and perform reconciliations for PIER and other tax reporting, resolving any variances to balance accounts.Complete annual, quarterly or monthly reporting requirements including taxes, WCB submissions and government surveys.Other duties as assigned Additional Information If this description describes you perfectly and the work environment you know you can thrive in, send us your resume as well as describe to us what you’re passionate about and we may just reach out to you.Attabotics is committed to employing the best people to do the best job possible within our environment.
