Payment Operations Specialist I (Hybrid)

The Payment Operations Specialist I role involves providing superior member service through the accurate processing of payment operations tasks, conducting research, and resolving member issues efficiently.ResponsibilitiesProvides superior member service to Credit Union members and internal departments through timely and accurate processing of payment operations tasksConducts research, verification, and member issue resolutionSupports front line and back office staff in cards and/or payment mattersResponsible for responding to member needs from front line staff in a professional and efficient manner, maintaining a superior level of quality servicePerforms all duties according to established operating procedures and adheres to Credit Union policiesCompletes mail transactions via Remit Plus and Interactive Teller Capture software programs according to the accompanying paperwork, which may include identifying members, making changes to all types of accounts, and accurate postingReviews and processes Remote Deposits CaptureManages ATM disputes and shared branching adjustmentsHandles incoming, outgoing, and interoffice mail routing and processes returned mailConducts member research, and assists in resolving member issues for front line and/or back office staffProcesses daily files for ACH, Share Draft In-clearings, wire transfers, and Cash Letter remittance in a timely manner, including retrieval, balancing, return item processing, research, and adjustmentsMaintains availability via phone queue, to support staff and member needsActs as primary resource regarding card functions to provide constant support to staff inquiries to assist in resolving issues related to card transaction processing, products and services, Falcon review, and marketing solutionsProcesses and manages service eventsMaintains solid working knowledge of card related products and as well as card processing systems of the credit unionPerforms projects, special assignments and other duties as assignedSkillsMinimum 1 year payment related activities within a financial institutionExperience using Microsoft Office, VROL, FIS, CO-OP applications preferredMinimum 6 months Westerra Credit Union experienceExcellent communication both written and oralExcellent member and customer service skillsBasic computer skillsEffective verbal and written skillsMust be able to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to learn and demonstrate that learning on the jobDetail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skillsMust maintain a high level of confidentialityAccountable for basic short-term tasks and work is primarily routine and follows standard proceduresUses basic judgement under close supervision or instructionUnderstanding of procedures for basic technical, administrative, or operative tasksBenefitsThree health plans through UMR that offer a variety of coverage options, including HSA and FSA optionsTwo dental plans through Delta DentalBasic life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability and long-term disability20+ days of paid time off (PTO) per yearAnniversary time off that consists of 1+ days of paid leave for each anniversary year (PLAY)16 hours of volunteer time off (VTO) per year11+ paid holidays401(k) that includes up to 6% matchUp to 2% off the rate on a new Westerra mortgage, applicable to primary residence, second home, or investment property2% off Auto/RV/Motorcycle LoansUp to $5250 per year for educational reimbursement4 weeks of paid parental leaveMental health resources including an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Individualized learning and development programsCompany Overviewwesterracu offers wide variety of financial products and services to our members, and are known for our commitment to service excellence.
