Patent Prosecution - Patent Agent

Mintz is an Am Law 100 law firm with over 500 attorneys serving clients worldwide. They are seeking a Patent Agent to join their patent prosecution team, which crafts patents and provides guidance for clients' innovations. The role involves drafting applications, responding to office actions, and conducting patentability analyses.ResponsibilitiesReviewing invention disclosure documents and conducting invention disclosure meetingsConducting prior searches, reviewing references and analyzing patentabilityDrafting patent applicationsReviewing USPTO office actions, formulating response strategies, conducting examiner interviews, and drafting and filing responsesManaging U.S. and foreign docketsAnalyzing patents in connection with due diligence and/or freedom to operate analysesSkillsUSPTO admission is requiredAt least one year of patent prosecution experience in one or more of the following technologies: hardware and devices, software, database technology, artificial intelligence, wireless, and image and/or signal processingA technology background in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or chemical engineeringExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA high level of professionalism in working and engaging with demanding clientsAbility to balance and prioritize multiple competing priorities and responsibilities, be highly organized and exercise extreme attention to detailAbility to collaborate and work effectively in team settingsPrior work experience in a law firm strongly preferredBenefitsComprehensive benefits packageCompany OverviewMintz is a general practice, full service law firm servicing public corporations, privately held businesses and entrepreneurs.
