A leading law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join its Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group, specializing in Electrical Engineering & Software. This role offers the opportunity to engage in high-level intellectual property matters, focusing on drafting and prosecuting patents related to electrical engineering, computer science, and cutting-edge technologies.
Location:
Ā Houston, TX
Duties:
Ā Draft and prosecute patent applications in the fields of electrical engineering, software, and computer science.
Ā Handle patent litigation matters, providing expert guidance to clients.
Ā Advise clients on intellectual property strategies, portfolio development, and protection.
Ā Conduct patentability, infringement, and validity analyses.
Ā Represent clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Ā Collaborate with cross-functional teams on prosecution and litigation cases.
Requirements:
Ā Experience in intellectual property law, with a focus on patent prosecution and litigation.
Ā Strong background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
Ā Design engineering experience in chip companies is a plus.
Ā Preference for expertise in networking, software, and wireless technologies (3G/4G/5G).
Ā Associate and Patent Agent candidates must be admitted to the USPTO and have 2-6 years of experience.
Ā All candidates must be a member of the USPTO.
Education:
Ā Relevant undergraduate degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field).
Certifications:
Ā USPTO registration required for all candidates.
