ISN is looking for a part-time Staff Accountant (25 to 30 hours per week) to join our accounting team to perform a variety of accounting and administrative duties.
We are looking for an energetic, self-starting, organized, detail-oriented candidate with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
The Staff Accountant will be assisting with month-end closings, maintaining records of financial transactions, ensuring the accuracy of customer billings, assist with payroll related functions.
This position may become full-time with the right candidate.
This position is remote with option to work in the office as needed. Please keep in mind that the remote option is due to current circumstances relating to the pandemic and may be temporary.
Job Description
Perform various bank and balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure correct account classification and accuracy of balances by researching and resolving reconciling items
Manage and process monthly billing ensuring accuracy and timeliness of assigned bills
Prepare, reconcile payroll entries
Serve as a backup for payroll
Review state and federal tax notices and forward to tax accountant or payroll vendor as appropriate
Assists with month-end closing entries and billings
Assist Staff Senior Accountant with new hires set up in CostPoint and all other Payroll related functions as needed
Wire & ACH transactions (both initiating the transaction & recording it in Deltek)
Serve as a backup for expense reports
Assist with new project & employee workforce setups
Backup for regular AP entries, check-printing, and postings
Performs special projects and provide support to the accounting team as needed
Qualifications
This position requires at a minimum an associate degree in accounting
A minimum of 2 years of recent Experience working with Deltek CostPoint 7.0. preferred
A minimum of 2 years of experience in government contracting field
Hands on payroll processing is preferable, but not required
Excellent problem-solving skills and resourcefulness
Advance Excel Skills
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
The ability to learn and interact with other professionals
Ability to perform and work as part of a team
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Current active security clearance or eligible to obtain one
