Part-Time Remote Client Services Accountant (QuickBooks Online Experience Required)

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Client Services Accountant to manage day-to-day financial activities for a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate is proficient in all facets of QuickBooks Online, has a solid understanding of accounting principles, and demonstrates strong time management skills.

Key Responsibilities

· Record financial transactions and collaboration with client staff or owners to ensure accuracy and completeness

· Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations

· Assist with payroll processing and post related journal entries

· Maintain financial records and general ledger entries in accordance with established procedures

· Support month-end and year-end close processes

· Ensure compliance with internal client policies and GAAP, as applicable

· Review financial reports and flag discrepancies or areas needing attention

· Prepare monthly reporting packages for client review and distribution

· Recommend tools and process improvements to increase efficiency

· Maintain and troubleshoot third-party app integrations with QuickBooks Online

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.

· Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, with deep knowledge of all major functions (chart of accounts, reconciliations, bank rules, recurring transactions, reports, etc.)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

· Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles for both accrual and cash-basis clients.

· Ability to prepare accurate journal entries and understand their impact on financial statements

· Proficiency in financial analysis, dashboard/report creation, and ad hoc reporting

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, charts, and advanced formulas

· Comfortable working within the Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)

· Familiarity with Keeper software for task management and client communication (or ability to learn quickly)

· Familiarity with RightTool software (or ability to learn quickly).

· Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in work

· Critical thinker with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues

· A strong sense of ownership and accountability for assigned work

· Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute

· Exposure to financial clean-up work or systems/process improvements

Working Conditions & Location

This is a part-time, remote role, starting at approximately 5 hours per week, with long-term potential to grow as we bring on new clients and expand services. While you’ll have the flexibility to set your own hours Monday through Friday, we do expect some level of daily availability for checking email and responding to client needs
