About The Moore The Moore is a landmark destination in the Miami Design District, comprised of a private members club, hotel and a collection of restaurants, retail, exhibition, event and office space. Housed in the District’s circa-1922 Moore building, the reimagined, nearly 90,000-square-foot space integrates two, four-story structures located at the intersection of NE 40th Street and NE 2nd Avenue, and includes Elastika , the site-specific commission created by the late artist and architect Zaha Hadid for the inaugural Design Miami/ exhibition in 2005. The redevelopment of The Moore is led by boutique hospitality firm and operator, WoodHouse. Founded by entrepreneur Brady Wood, WoodHouse creates, owns and operates experiential concepts, ranging from private clubs, restaurants and hotels to live music and entertainment venues. Position Overview As a Porter at Elastika, your primary responsibility is to provide support to the overall kitchen operation by organizing and cleaning various kitchen items, including pots, pans, silverware, dishware, glassware, and kitchen equipment. Your diligent efforts will contribute to maintaining cleanliness, order, and efficiency in the kitchen. In this role, you will take proactive measures to complete various tasks. This includes discarding rubbish as needed throughout your shift, operating industrial cleaning equipment such as the dishwasher, and occasionally assisting the Chef on Duty with their responsibilities. The key to success as a Porter lies in your ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. You will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes and equipment are properly cleaned and stored in their designated areas. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will play a vital role in upholding the high standards of Elastika. Required Skills/Qualifications: Prior experience as a Porter or in a similar role is preferred but not required. Ability to effectively organize and clean kitchen items, ensuring they are stored in the appropriate areas. Familiarity with operating industrial cleaning equipment, such as dishwashers, and following proper cleaning procedures. Proactive approach to completing tasks and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift. Good physical stamina and the ability to handle repetitive tasks. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required. Willingness to arrive early for work, allowing sufficient time to settle and be briefed on previous and upcoming services.
