Part-Time Instructor (Online) for high school students
We are seeking a motivated and engaging instructor to mentor a high school student in a structured, online research-based learning experience. The instructor will help guide the student through the process of experimental design, data interpretation, and manuscript writing, with the ultimate goal of producing a short research-style paper or presentation.Details:Schedule: 1.5 hours per session, 4 times per week for 2 weeks (total: 12 hours)Format: Live online sessions via ZoomRate: $75–100 per hour, depending on experienceStart Date: Flexible, ideally in July and AugustResponsibilities:Design and lead an engaging mini-curriculum focused on the basics of scientific inquiry and academic writingIntroduce foundational concepts (e.g., hypothesis, experimental methods, data interpretation)Guide the student in topic exploration and structured writingProvide feedback on drafts and progressQualifications:Experience in research and/or academic instruction (postdocs or graduate students with publications)Strong communication skills and a passion for teachingExperience mentoring teens or teaching at the high school or college level preferred, but not requiredAbility to inspire curiosity and adapt content to the student’s interests and levelThis is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with motivated students and has a talent for simplifying complex concepts.Job Types: Part-time, ContractPay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hourExpected hours: 6 per weekWork Location: Remote
