Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to work on a part-time (10-15+ hours/week), flexible schedule that can be managed around your existing commitments. This is a 100% remote opportunity, allowing you to work from anywhere and maintain a healthy work-life balance. As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial management tasks, including financial statement preparation, accounts payable and receivable management, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all staff accounting functions, including financial statement preparation and month-end close processes
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and lender accounts, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Develop and maintain a database for consultant placement, including monthly billing, cash receipts, and accounts payable
Assist the CEO with administrative reports and special projects as required
Process monthly recurring and miscellaneous journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Maintain a high level of organization and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Clean up prior year activity to create accurate current year financials
Develop and implement systems to account for financial transactions, establishing a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in accounting and financial management, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. A BA/BS in Accounting is preferred but not required. You should have:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to leverage these tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Excellent QuickBooks skills, with experience in managing and maintaining accurate financial records
A determined problem-solving approach, with the ability to act with a sense of urgency in securing invoice payments in a timely manner
Strong organizational and coordinating skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work constructively with others in a team setting
A basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting
