Job Overview: Part-Time Assistant Teacher We're seeking a compassionate and creative Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our team in Huntsville, AL. As an Assistant Teacher, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Lead Teachers and contributing to the success of our center. Key Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, warm, and inviting classroom environment that fosters learning and growth. Communicate daily with families regarding student progress, needs, and activities to encourage partnership and support. Develop strong professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote parent and community engagement. Maintain a high-quality standard of care by adhering to minimum licensing, quality rated, and/or accreditation guidelines and company standards. Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children, ensuring a healthy and nurturing environment. Utilize our science-based, proprietary curriculum and suggested supplement activities to create engaging lesson plans tailored to each child's developmental needs. Assist with daily records, including attendance, child portfolios, USDA documentation, and other required records. Partner with team members and leadership to achieve center goals around enrollment, accreditations, and family engagement. Essential Qualifications Genuine warmth and understanding of the needs of young children and their families. Positive attitude and self-image with a commitment to innovation and creativity. Strong communication skills with coworkers, parents, and children. HS Diploma or GED required. Must pass the state-required criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in early childhood education. Knowledge of child development principles and practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability. Skills and Competencies Compassionate and patient approach to working with children.
