Parla is a spot to celebrate NY-style pizza and Italian-inspired cocktails from the team behind The Smith. Opening this fall on the Upper West Side, Parla is an all-day destination for lunch and dinner, with plans to serve baked goods at breakfast. The square and round pizzas are the anchors of the menu, along with house-made pastas, veggies, and shareable plates created by Executive Chef Brian Ellis. The bar specializes in espresso, wine, and cocktails using a curated selection of amari and vermouth.
We are looking to build a team of talented and passionate hospitality professionals to help us launch Parla. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of and contribute to the opening of a brand-new concept!
The Position: Line Cook (Garde Manger)
Position Requirements
? Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces
? Cooks food items by grilling, frying, saut'ing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards
? Prepare food to Parla's specifications
? Responsible for food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
? Set up station for service by chopping, butchering, preparing, and/or stocking station.
? Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
? Answer, report, and follow CDC's or Sous Chef's instructions
? Clean up station during and at the end of service
? Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
? You have a love and passion for the hospitality industry
? You work hard and never settle
? You have 2-years of experience in a fast-casual dining environment
? You have
? You genuinely get joy out of making people happy and are able to have fun while working
? You take pride in your success and the success of those around you
? Ability to read and follow standardized recipes
? Previous experience as a pizza cook or in a similar role preferred
