Job DescriptionAs a Paraprofessional with The Menta Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school.10 Month School CalendarAges 17-22 Small Self-Contained Rooms Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., M-F, following a school calendarDirect Hire with our school: Return School Year after School Year (no annual contract) Responsibilities Manage classroom behaviorsReport behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staffImplement and maintain behavioral program policies and dataMaintain classroom order and safety (Security)Provide general supervision of students inside the school settingAssist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behaviorMaintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditionsRespond to emergency situationsProvide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviorsThink quickly, independently, and tactfully Qualifications Paraprofessional experience is helpfulSecurity or Juvenile Justice background is helpfulMilitary Veterans are encouraged to applyAbility to operate tactfully under stressFlexibility to change in routinesAt least 23 years of ageAble to work with high-risk special needs studentsGood driving record and willing and able to drive student van is strongly preferred Compensation & Benefits In accordance with the Pay Transparency amendment to the Illinois Equal Pay Act of 2003, information about pay ranges and employee benefits can be found at the following links:General Employee Benefits OverviewSalary InformationPlease refer to the "Classroom Support" section for this position's category Additional Information About Fox Tech Transition ProgramThe Fox Tech Transition Program is dedicated to providing a safe platform for young adults, ages 17-22. Our program helps them prepare for their next phase by providing a supportive environment for career exploration, skill development, health and wellness, behavior regulation, and independent living. Facilitators offer personalized real-world experiences to maximize each participant's independence.Students gradually transition through different placements, practicing new skills and behaviors in a safe environment. The program assesses their skills through hands-on projects and student-led businesses.
