Job DescriptionAs a Paraprofessional with The Menta Group, you will be responsible for working with classroom instructors and staff to offer targeted teaching and support to students in the classroom, as well as general support for all students in the school Responsibilities Manage classroom behaviorsReport behavioral concerns of students to appropriate staffImplement and maintain behavioral program policies and dataMaintain classroom order and safety (Security)Provide general supervision of students inside the school settingAssist in the prevention and management of incidents of non-compliance and/or escalation in behaviorMaintain alertness for problems likely to disrupt the educational process or to be a safety concern and correct and report these conditionsRespond to emergency situationsProvide interventions to students to assist in managing behaviorsThink quickly, independently, and tactfully Qualifications Certfied Paraprofessional is preferred, but not requiredRegistered Behavior Technician or DSP experience is helpfulEducational background in education, psychology, sociology, human services, kinesiology, sports/sports medicine, or social work is helpfulSecurity or Juvenile Justice background is helpfulMilitary Veterans are encouraged to applyAbility to operate tactfully under stressFlexibility to change in routinesAble to work with high-risk special needs studentsGood driving record and willing and able to drive student van is strongly preferred Compensation & Benefits In accordance with the Pay Transparency amendment to the Illinois Equal Pay Act of 2003, information about pay ranges and employee benefits can be found at the following links:General Employee Benefits OverviewSalary InformationPlease refer to the "Classroom Support" section for this position's category.
