The Paralegal provides essential support to the General Counsel and legal function of Step Up by conducting legal research, drafting documents, organizing case files, and assisting in trial preparation, as necessary. This role ensures the efficient operation of legal processes and helps maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Location : Remote (United States) Key Responsibilities: Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases. Draft legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs and other legal responses. Organize, maintain and track legal matters, files, and legal documentation. Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings. File documents with courts and government agencies. Communicate with witnesses and experts as needed. Review and summarize depositions, interrogatories, and testimony. Strong legal research and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Attention to detail and organizational abilities. Proficiency with legal software and document management systems. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Discretion and ability to handle confidential information. Teamwork and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated success and a proven track record in professional/life experience in specific job functions, projects, or industries. Military service can substitute for professional experience and/or formal education requirements. Qualifications: At least 2-4 years of legal experience. Prior in-house experience is desirable. Youâll Stand Out If You Have: ⢠Experience in nonprofit governance, privacy, litigation, or public records desired. Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) certification or similar certification from an accredited program. Key Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication. Attention to detail and accuracy.
