Outpatient Coding Auditor (PRN)

We are currently seeking an experienced Facility Outpatient Coding Auditor to join our team working remotely from a home office on a PRN basis. Responsibilities include: • Performs coding quality audits and reviews on a variety of facility outpatient records including but not limited to: Same Day Surgery, Observations, ED and Infusions/Injections • Provides feedback and education to coding staff • Extracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate procedural terminology and medical codes (e.g., ICD-10-CM, CPT) to patient records • Assists in developing educational training content and materials for coding staff • Presents educational seminars to clients and staff The ideal candidate will be flexible, detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, quality conscious and be able to adapt well to change. Additional qualifications include: • AHIMA or AAPC certification • 2-3 years' minimum experience performing facility outpatient audits • Experience in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCC as well as procedural/surgical coding • Experience with trauma activation preferred but not required • Ability to assemble final reporting • Ability to participate in client facing discussions regarding audit findings • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with confidence on site and via webinar/conference calls • The ability to work 15+ hours/week UASI is dedicated to providing employees with the tools needed for professional growth and development.
