OSP Coax Technician, Fairfield ME
Centerline is seeking an experienced OSP Coax Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot coaxial cable networks in both aerial and underground environments. The role involves ensuring reliable broadband service through construction, testing, and repair of HFC systems.ResponsibilitiesInstall, splice, and repair coaxial cable in OSP environments (aerial & underground)Perform aerial and underground coax construction, including strand placement and cable lashingPerform signal level testing, sweep, and system balancingRead and interpret prints, maps, and network diagramsTroubleshoot repair faults efficientlyConfident working independently on both passive and active network elementsOperate bucket trucks and other telecom equipmentEnsure compliance with safety standards and company proceduresDocument work completed and maintain accurate recordsSkills1–3+ years of experience in coaxial cable installation or telecommunications field workStrong knowledge of HFC (Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial) networks preferredExperience with aerial and underground construction methodsAbility to read and understand system maps and design printsValid driver's licenseAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditionsComfortable working at heights and in confined spaceInstall, splice, and repair coaxial cable in OSP environments (aerial & underground)Perform aerial and underground coax construction, including strand placement and cable lashingPerform signal level testing, sweep, and system balancingRead and interpret prints, maps, and network diagramsTroubleshoot repair faults efficientlyConfident working independently on both passive and active network elementsOperate bucket trucks and other telecom equipmentEnsure compliance with safety standards and company proceduresDocument work completed and maintain accurate recordsRepeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 40 lbs continuouslyAbility to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacityEnvironmental Conditions exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noiseWork environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautionsFrequent maintenance window work will be required and included as part of scheduleExperience with sweep and balance of coax systemsKnowledge of RF signal flow and troubleshooting techniquesFamiliarity with cable TV or broadband network systemsOSHA safety training or certificationCompany OverviewCenterline is a leading provider of critical infrastructure services for next-generation networks across North America.
