Oracle Database Engineer

IDB Bank is seeking a Junior SQL Server Database Engineer to support commercial bank application databases and perform production database administration. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize database performance, implement high availability solutions, and ensure data security while adhering to best practices in database management.ResponsibilitiesServe as Onshore DBA for bank data infrastructure, and data architecture to assist mission critical 24X7 production databases with Microsoft SQL ServerPartnership effectively with application development, production application support teams to optimize the performance of the various application’s databasesAdvocate database objects design such as Partition tables, Triggers, Index analysis, Stored Procedures, Views turning, User defined functions, and various data typesImplement and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA-DR) automated solutions such as SQL Server – Always on Availability Groups to sync Production and disaster recovery environmentsParticipate annual disaster recovery test planning and execute to achieve successful result to have bank on-premise data infrastructure robust and resilientPartnership with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure team members to implement monthly critical patching, Upgrade, Cloning, building best practices documentation and Database MigrationsImplement CIS security standards to hardening the data infrastructureWeekly basis time sheet submission and providing status report for various projects are key to perform the job functionCandidate will follow SDLC standards, change control best practices, assist internal and external auditsCandidate should have previous experience or adopt to fast-paced environment (High volume of work, Rapid changes, tight deadlines, urgency and multitasking)Implement SQL Server - SSIS, SSAS and SSRS product featuresShould have strong ETL, ELT experience to optimize the data warehouse batch jobs to narrow the execution of the data loadImplement Backup encryption, TLS certificates to encrypt the communication in the data infrastructure and Hygiene best practice implementation to secure the daily, weekly and monthly backups in AWS-S3 storageCollaborate with third party fintech vendors to modernize, portfolio optimization and rationalization of the database estateCandidate will implement dynamic data masking through tools such as Delphix to virtualize the database environment with masked data in non-production environment to secure bank data infrastructureCandidate should have hands on experience with PowerShell, Shell scripts, Python, TSQL, PL/SQL programming to review the code and optimize as necessaryAdvocate cross functional teamExperience with Cybersecurity tools such as CyberArk, Crowd Strike, Qualys scan and Firewall - tufin implementation are mandatorySkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalentLarge scale database integration experience in an Agile modelSelf-motivated when it comes to multitasking and development planningGreat communication skills and confidence to manage upRDBMS: SQL Server 2022, and 2019 RDBMS versionsOperating System: Windows 2019, 2022, RHEL 8.x, 9.xExperience with Cybersecurity tools such as CyberArk, Crowd Strike, Qualys scan and Firewall - tufin implementation are mandatoryExposure with F5 Load balancer implementation to route the sessions in HA-DR environment and advance database features such as Transparent data encryption (TDE), Policy management, Resource Governor, and Extended eventsExposure with data center migration from on-premise to cloud is a plusExposure with NoSQL products: Apache Ignite, SQL Lite, MongoDB, and Cassandra, CouchbaseAWS or Azure cloud certification and previous implementation in AWS – Databricks, Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse or Snowflake in public cloudImplement database monitoring using tools such as System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), Nice Management Pack configuration for Oracle DB instance and SolarWinds monitoring and alerts to create auto tickets in ServiceNowExposure with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning experience in data engineering is a plusBenefitsAnnual bonusMedical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plansLife and disability insuranceEmployee wellness programRetirement and savings plans with employer contributionsGenerous holiday and paid time off schedulesParental leaveTuition reimbursementCompany OverviewIDB Bank® is a New York-based private and commercial bank licensed by the State of New York and a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
