OpenText Extended ECM for SAP Consultant / Architect (Contract)
About the position
We are seeking a highly experienced OpenText Extended ECM (xECM) for SAP Consultant / Architect with 10+ years of enterprise ECM and SAP integration experience to lead the design, configuration, and delivery of complex xECM implementations.
This role requires deep hands-on expertise in SAP connectivity, Business Workspaces, Document declaration with the ability to guide architecture decisions and partner with business and IT stakeholders.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Own end-to-end xECM for SAP solution architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and compliance.
ā¢ Define architectural standards for:
ā¢ Business Workspace models and templates
ā¢ Metadata, classification, and inheritance strategies
ā¢ SAP-to-OpenText integration patterns
ā¢ Design, develop, and optimize Workspace Property Providers to dynamically populate workspace properties based on SAP and Content Server data.
ā¢ SAP workbench knowledge and ABAP programming and/or debugging
ā¢ Implement complex business rules for metadata derivation, validation, and formatting.
ā¢ Ensure extensions are performant, resilient, and production-ready, with proper error handling, logging, and caching strategies.
ā¢ Configure and setup SAP Connectivity for xECM authentication and SSO
ā¢ Collaborate with SAP Basis and Security teams to:
ā¢ Define required authorizations and roles
ā¢ Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues
ā¢ Lead the design and configuration of Business Workspaces, including:
ā¢ Workspace types and templates
ā¢ Folder structures, naming conventions, and security models
ā¢ Automated workspace creation rules driven by SAP events and context
ā¢ Ensure workspace lifecycle management aligns with business processes and governance requirements.
ā¢ Define and implement enterprise metadata models mapped to SAP master and transactional data.
ā¢ Ensure consistent classification, indexing, and searchability of workspaces and documents.
ā¢ Lead technical delivery activities across Dev, QA, and Prod environments.
ā¢ Support and oversee SIT, UAT, and cutover activities.
ā¢ Provide post-go-live support and hypercare, including root-cause analysis and performance tuning.
ā¢ Develop and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
ā¢ 10+ years of experience in xECM for SAP Solutions with ABAP Development
ā¢ Functional experience with at least one of the core SAP ERP / SAP S4/HANA modules (FI, MM, PP, SD or HCM)
ā¢ Proven experience delivering multiple full lifecycle xECM implementations in enterprise environments.
