Online Educator (Remote) - United States

Remote Full-time
Part-Time Literacy Tutor (Remote) Are you ready to make a difference in young readers' lives — all from the comfort of your home? At Hoot Reading, we’re on a mission to change children’s lives through literacy, and we’re growing our Hoot Teacher Network! Educators at Hoot Reading provide 1:1 lessons for their students using innovative tech and a Science of Reading curriculum to empower teachers to focus on what they do best—teaching! We primarily support students during school hours through school-district partnerships. Teachers are paid to participate in our robust professional development program before teaching lessons to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students! Your Availability and Schedule: • Hours: We are currently looking for teachers who can support morning lessons from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM CT, Monday to Thursday. Some afternoon and evening opportunities may be available, but they are limited. This is a part-time role, and hours vary based on student enrolment and scheduling needs. • Commitment: Teachers can expect to work 5–10 hours per week, depending on program demand and alignment with your availability. Actual hours are not guaranteed. • Consistency: Students meet with the same teacher three times per week at the same time of day. For this reason, we prioritize teachers who can offer consistent availability across multiple weekdays (Monday to Thursday). What are we looking for? • Bachelor’s degree in education (or equivalent) is required. • 2+ years of K-6 teaching experience with a strong grasp of phonics, decoding and reading fundamentals. • Tech-savvy with a reliable laptop, internet, and quiet workspace. • Being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. • You are located in one of the following states: Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ohio. Sound like you? Apply today! Successful candidates will be contacted for interviews. Hoot Reading is an equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
