Occupational Therapist - Remote

Administers and provides occupational therapy and rehabilitation treatments prescribed by a physician. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of a physician. Instruct, prepare, and reassure resident of treatment being performed. Review the diagnosis of residents, evaluate the patient’s condition, establish a plan of treatment, and perform discharge planning and re-evaluation. Apply appropriate treatments, exercises and ambulatory procedures, and informs the resident of the treatment process. Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on resident progress and changing needs Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on restoring function and promoting independence Monitor and ensure resident safety during treatments. Provide care appropriate for the residents served based on demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Assess and interpret data on the resident’s status to identify residents’ requirements relative to their age specific needs and provide care needed as stipulated in departmental policy. Maintain records associated with the resident's treatments. Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility and regulatory standards Communicate information to the director and physician on resident’s treatment progress as directed. Assist in maintain stock levels of supplies and required equipment. Ensure inventory is adequately stocked with supplies necessary for efficient operation. Perform the sterilization of equipment and work area. Perform minor and preventative maintenance on equipment and ensure equipment is properly stored after use. Report equipment problems to Rehabilitation Director. OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS: Maintain confidentiality on a daily basis. Work well with other employees.
