About the positionResponsibilities
Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, including procurement of equipment and supplies during emergencies.
In a psychiatric setting, aid patients in reality orientation, participate in behavior modification plans, provide informal support therapy, and monitor therapeutic milieu activities.
Observe, collect, and document patient information while providing care, reporting significant changes to a registered nurse or physician.
Assist patients and their families during admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
Provide care and treatments as outlined in the plan of care, including vital signs measurement, specimen collection, catheter care, and simple wound care.
Deliver direct personal care for daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance.
Perform indirect care tasks including cleaning the work area, changing linens, re-stocking supplies, and transporting patients.
Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding.
Requirements
Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Fluent in verbal and written English language.
Basic computer skills.
Nice-to-havesPrefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience.Benefits
