Department BSD PED - Off-Site Clinics About the Department Flossmoor Child Life Center is a primary care pediatric office serving children aged 0-21. In addition, a pediatric gastroenterologist holds clinic out of this location for a combined four sessions per month. There are an average of three general pediatricians seeing children for a wide range of services including well-child exam and immunization services, as well as typical childhood illness. Job Summary Provide day-to-day support in a general pediatric clinic. Assist providers in routine well childcare, care of sick children, vaccination of children, basic point of care testing, and patient education. Monitoring supply inventories including ordering additional medical supplies and vaccinations. Phone triage as necessary. Responsibilities Collect and document vitals and chief complaint. Obtain current medications. Administer vaccinations. POC testing in clinic. Assist with basic procedures in clinic. Stock and clean rooms. Obtain medical records/results as needed. Historically document vaccines in medical records for new patients. Manage VFC process. Supply inventory ordering/management. Vaccine inventory and ordering/management. Completion of forms as needed for patients. Applies logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Has a solid understanding of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Certifications: --- Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Experience: Nursing experience. Ambulatory care setting. Pediatric experience. Licenses and Certifications: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. Preferred Competencies Teamwork.
