Position Title: Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Deputy CFO)

Overview:

The Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Deputy CFO) will support the CFO in managing the financial operations of our non-profit organization with an annual budget of over $11 million. This position is designed to take over routine financial tasks from the current CFO. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting and finance and be eager to learn and grow within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Operations:
? Assist the CFO with day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
? Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation of expenses.
? Maintain accurate financial records and support the preparation of financial statements.

Budget Assistance:
? Support the CFO in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget.
? Assist in tracking expenses and revenues against the budget.
? Prepare budget reports for review by the CFO.

Audit and Compliance Support:
? Help prepare documentation and schedules for the annual audit.
? Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulations.
? Assist in maintaining records for audit purposes and respond to audit inquiries.

Financial Reporting:
? Prepare monthly financial reports for review by the CFO.
? Assist in creating financial presentations for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders.
? Update financial dashboards and metrics as needed.
? 403(b) Plan management.

Grant and Fund Management:
? Assist in managing grant budgets and tracking grant expenditures.
? Prepare financial reports for grantors under the supervision of the CFO.
? Ensure proper documentation and compliance with grant requirements.

Administrative Support:
? Provide administrative support to the CFO, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and organizing files.
? Assist with special projects and financial analyses as directed by the CFO.
? Help coordinate finance-related activities with other departments.

Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
? Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a non-profit organization.
? Basic knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and financial reporting.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage50, Sage Intacct, banking software, Medicaid/Managed Care billing software).
? Proficiency in fully automated Payroll software, including remote time entry.
? Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
? Good communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
? Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities.

Preferences:
? Familiarity with OPWDD/DOH
? Familiarity with CFR preparation strongly preferred
? Familiarity with Form 990 and CHAR500 preparation
? Familiarity with Form 5500 preparation for 403(b) Plan
? Familiarity with payroll tax return preparation
? Familiarity with Sage 50 software preferable
? Familiarity with Millin Pro Medical Billing Software preferable
? Familiarity with daily preparation of Positive pay files for bank
? Familiarity with using Paycom payroll software
? Familiarity with MITC software for EVV filings a help
? Familiarity with online banking including online depositing.
? Comfortable with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
? Familiar with treasury functions / cash management
? Familiar with Medicaid billing as well as managed care billing
? Familiarity with management of SNAP benefits
? Familiarity with Medicaid certifications and recertifications
? Familiarity with managed care certifications and recertifications
? Familiarity with consolidated financial statements
? Familiarity with negotiating office insurance policies and benefits
? Being hands-on and take-charge
? CMA or CPA helpful

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
