We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Newcomer Classroom Assistant - Spanish to join our team at Adams County School District 12. As a Newcomer Classroom Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting newcomer students in the core classroom, providing native language support, and serving as a link between the school and family. Responsibilities
Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide native language support and instructional assistance in all subject areas for newcomer students.
Assist with implementation of teacher's instruction plan, prepare materials, administer tests, and perform paperwork and documentation as needed.
Serve as a link between the school and family, providing supplemental interpreting and translation services for multilingual students and families.
Help newcomer students build a positive self-image and view their culture and themselves with pride.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including lunchroom/playground duty.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Proficiency in English and Spanish required.
No experience required, but experience working with school-age children preferred.
Criminal background check required for hire.
First Aid certification preferred.
