Its infrastructure has facilitated trillions of dollars in onchain value transfer and supported millions of transactions daily for some of the globe's largest banks, fintechs, enterprises, and consumer applications.Your RoleAs a Network Operations Engineer within the Site Reliability Engineering team, you will serve as the front line of reliability for Polygon Labsβ infrastructure. You will be the first to detect issues, the first to respond, and a key driver in ensuring incidents are triaged quickly and handled effectively.This is a shift-based role on the First Responders team, where you will monitor a complex, multi-system environment spanning blockchain infrastructure, RPC services, and user-facing products. You will not only respond to incidents but also help build the operational foundation, improving observability, refining alerting, and creating runbooks that scale with the organization.If you enjoy structured problem-solving, working in high-signal environments, and building clarity in moments of ambiguity, this role offers a unique opportunity to grow within a rapidly evolving reliability function.Your ResponsibilitiesMonitor the health and performance of Polygon Labsβ infrastructure, including blockchain networks, bridges, RPC services, staking systems, and user-facing productsTrack third-party dependencies and identify degradation that may impact the broader ecosystemValidate and triage alerts by distinguishing signal from noise, assessing severity, and determining impactEscalate confirmed issues to the appropriate SRE or engineering teams with clear, structured contextCoordinate incident response by ensuring the right stakeholders are engaged, timelines are maintained, and communication is consistentDocument incidents in real time, including decisions, actions, and outcomesBuild and improve dashboards, alerting systems, and monitoring coverage to enhance visibilityCreate and maintain runbooks for common failure modes and triage workflowsSupport ecosystem participants such as validators and infrastructure providers when issues intersect with Polygon Labs systemsValidate user-facing product functionality during incidents, even in the absence of predefined runbooksWhat You'll NeedFoundational experience working with Linux systems, including navigating filesystems, reading logs, and understanding system processesUnderstanding of core networking concepts (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP) and the ability to troubleshoot service connectivity issuesBasic scripting ability (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate tasks or analyze system dataExposure to monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or PrometheusStrong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document incidents and procedures under pressureWillingness to work in a shift-based, follow-the-sun environment, with a structured and methodical approach to troubleshootingPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with blockchain infrastructure, including node operation or EVM-based systemsExperience with Datadog or similar observability platforms in production environmentsExposure to infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or configuration management tools like AnsiblePrevious experience in a network operations center, incident response team, or on-call rotationExperience working in a remote, globally distributed teamThe goal of the Polygon Labs total rewards program is to support the health and well-being of you and your family.
