National Account Manager
The National Account Manager (NAM) is responsible for account management and sales growth across the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with focus on VA Medical Centers. This role identifies opportunities for supporting Core Generics utilization and additional product portfolios as needed. The NAM will maintain strong working relationships with key VA contacts, develop account plans and coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support execution, service and performance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Review recurring reports to monitor account activity, sales performance and pipeline progress. Identify and communicate sales opportunities by email, phone and in person. Coordinate with the wholesaler and applicable AvKARE partners to resolve supply and service issues. Capture market share insights and competitive intelligence to support account strategy. Support new product launches and monitor pull-through to ensure adoption and sustained demand. Maintain a working knowledge of the pharmaceutical lifecycle from manufacturer to end user and how it impacts ordering, distribution and utilization. Build relationships with VA pharmacy departments and key contacts to influence the sales process and gain commitments to purchase. Understand and comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulation (VAAR) requirements. Develop business planning for all accounts including strategy, market analysis, customer insights and execution. Ability to travel up to 50% as needed to support account development and relationship management. Job Requirements B.S. in Life Sciences, Healthcare Administration or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical or healthcare sales. Minimum of 2 years in sales to VA Medical Centers. Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Working knowledge or experience in a public or government pharmacy preferred. Experience in pharmaceutical purchasing at a public or government pharmacy preferred. Current and valid state issued Driverβs License. Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
