Title: MySQL developer Position: Hybrid (2 days/week in office) Location: Washington DC Duration: long-term Pay Type: W2 and accepting H1B Transfer Job description • The successful MySQL Database Engineer will be highly motivated, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be an effective communicator. • Assist in the development of and adhering to technical and functional standards. Under limited direction, research, define, & complete required additions and changes to financial software products. • Under limited direction, analyze technical specifications for both creation of new and enhancing existing applications for compatibility with other systems. • Note: The role involves less database administration and more application development using PL/SQL. Qualifications • Must have 10-12 years of experience in MySQL database concepts and architecture. • At least five years of recent experience as a MySQL DBA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. • Familiarity with MySQL Workbench • Should be experienced with data migrations from SQL server, Oracle, PostgreSQL to MySQL. • Experience implementing data cleansing, data manipulation and data extractions. Responsibilities • Must be hands on to develop Procedures, Triggers, Functions in MySQL • Must be aware about bulk update/insert concepts of MySQL. Should be able to Write SQL queries for ad-hoc exports. • Must be hands on in designing/defining architecture for solutions in MySQL, need basic administration knowledge of MySQL. • Monitor databases to identify and resolve any issues with performance, security, and reliability. • Analyze database performance and recommend improvements. performing SQL performance tuning across application. • Develop, implement, and maintain backup and recovery procedures. • Create and maintain documentation of database models, designs, and configurations. • Troubleshoot database issues. • Provide technical support to users and other members of the team. • Keep up with industry trends in database technologies. • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality.Apply Now
