Music Engraver
GIA Publications is seeking an experienced music engraver to support large-scale publishing projects. This role requires a high level of accuracy, consistency, and efficiency, with the ability to work within established house styles and production workflows.

Qualifications:
ā¢ Advanced proficiency in notation software, including Dorico, Sibelius, and/or Finale.
ā¢ Strong understanding of music theory, notation standards, and engraving practices.
ā¢ High attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
ā¢ Ability to follow and enforce strict house styles and formatting rules.
ā¢ Experience working across a variety of musical genres and styles.
Preferred Qualifications:
ā¢ Familiarity with prepress and production workflows.
ā¢ Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
ā¢ Experience with workflow automation tools such as Keyboard Maestro or scripting.
ā¢ Degree in Music Theory, Composition, or related field.
Responsibilities:
ā¢ Engrave and refine music notation to professional publishing standards.
ā¢ Apply house engraving styles consistently across large batches of files.
ā¢ Manage lyrics, chord symbols, and layout with precise alignment and spacing.
ā¢ Review and correct files based on editorial and proofing feedback.
ā¢ Prepare files for downstream layout and production workflows.
ā¢ Maintain organized file structures and naming conventions.
