MSHA Certified Safety Trainer (Remote, Part-Time)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced MSHA Certified Safety Trainer to lead online safety certification courses for mine employees and contractors. This remote position offers flexibility while making a meaningful impact on mine safety across the industry.
Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
Additional Hours: Increased hours during peak training months (June-July)
Location: 100% Remote
Requirements: Stable internet connection required
What You'll Do
ā¢ Deliver engaging online certification courses to mine employees and contractors nationwide
ā¢ Monitor student progress through our Learning Management System (LMS), tracking course completion and performance
ā¢ Complete and submit MSHA Form 5000-23 certificates for all qualified students
ā¢ Provide responsive student support via phone, email, and instant chat during business hours
ā¢ Ensure training compliance with all MSHA regulatory requirements and best practices
Experience & Skills:
ā¢ Prior experience as a mine operator and/or MSHA inspector (hands-on mining experience essential)
ā¢ Proven experience delivering MSHA Part 46 and Part 48b training courses
ā¢ Strong knowledge of 30 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) and MSHA compliance requirements
ā¢ Proficient in public speaking and student engagement in a classroom or online/virtual environments
ā¢ Strong computer skills and comfort with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
ā¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Availability:
ā¢ Available minimum 20 hours per week year-round
ā¢ Available for additional hours during peak training season (June-July)
Required Qualifications and MSHA Credentials:
ā¢ ā Valid MSHA Blue Card (current and active)
ā¢ ā Current Certified MSHA Instructor status in the MSHA database
ā¢ ā Part 48b Surface Training Certification - authorized to conduct New Miner and Refresher training
Preferred Qualifications
ā¢ ā Part 48a Underground Training Certification - authorized to conduct New Miner and refresher underground training is a plus but not mandatory
ā¢ ā Bilingual English and Spanish speaking is a plus but not mandatory
