Mountain Escape Romance book cover
1) This is contract work for hire. The project is a wrap-around book cover for a 6 x 9 paperback for KDP publishing, a subsidiary of Amazon. Familiarity with KDP requirements is a plus.
2) This is a medieval fantasy romance, my fourth book in this series and I have a logo for the bottom of the spine for my publisher Pen Heart Publishing. I have several more books to complete but it takes me a year to complete them.
3) The cover art must be commercially sellable. That means you must own all the rights to the work you are selling me. I will keep a copy of our contract to prove ownership of the cover art.
4) I have provided details of what the cover is to look like on the attached document. There are two characters in the cover art and I would like to have them both in the cover and each on a separate file to use in advertising. The two formats I use is pdf and png. PDF is used to load into KDP. PNG is used to make any minor changes before uploading. I need the final cover in both formats. I can give you the exact dimensions before delivery date after page count of the book has been determined.
5) Time frame is about three months.
6) I pay a turn-key price for work. This is not my first cover so I know about how much they cost. I don't mind paying a portion of the contract amount upon reaching a milestone (early sketch, characters finished, background done, ect.) but we need to spell that out in advance.
7) I am always looking for good artists. AI is great for simple jobs or for drawing up a plan, but it takes an artist to make a real book cover.
