Description
SAIC is seeking a Modeling & Simulation Software Developer on the Horizon Program to support to the US Space Force (USSF) Program Executive Office's Space Domain Awareness & Combat Power portfolio in El Segundo, California.
This position entails software development for modeling, simulation, & analysis in support of United States Space Force acquisition decision process. It requires focus on integrating simulation tools into an automated system-level trade study execution architecture. You will be modeling satellite mission simulations using internal and commercial off the shelf packages.
Qualifications
This is you:
• Bachelor's degree engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or astronautics with 0 to 2+ years of related experience with:
• Satellite orbital mechanics & maneuvers, remote sensing, spacecraft launch/command/control, and/or satellite communications
• Programming languages: Python, MATLAB, Java, or C++
• Simulation development with MATLAB, Simulink, STK, AFSIM, or FreeFlyer
• Git (with GitLab or GitHub), SubVersion, ClearCase, or other revision control system supporting branched development
• Managing files & directories, network file sharing, installing software & licenses, and command line shell (Windows Cmd or Bash)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in engineering with emphasis on applications to space launch, orbits, and maneuvers
• Prior industry experience in aerospace or space & defense
• Knowledge/experience in control systems, guidance/navigation/control, or closed-loop simulation
• Systems engineering background/interest, with experience defining and executing trade studies
• Experience with satellite ground stations, on-orbit maneuvering, propulsion systems, electrical systems (solar/batteries), remote sensing, electro-optical/infra-red imaging, or radar
• Software requirements, design, and architecture using UML or SysML. Experience in DOORS, Cameo, or Sparx EA
• Experience implementing trade studies in Ansys/Phoenix ModelCenter
• Software development, unit test, build, and release cycle using DevOps CI/CD pipelines
• Agile process (Scrum, Kanban). Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
• Developing Software-as-a-Service web services with Swagger, Flask, or other similar technology
• Containerization and deployment of applications and services to a cloud environment
Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
