Middle Data Engineer (Snowflake)
About the position
We are looking for a Middle Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimizing scalable data pipelines that power investment, risk, research, and analytics use cases across the organization. You will take ownership of end-to-end components, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to technical direction across projects.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Design, develop, and optimize EDP data pipelines using Python, Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake for scalable financial data processing.
ā¢ Build performant Snowflake data models and DBT transformations following best practices, standards, and documentation guidelines.
ā¢ Own ingestion, orchestration, monitoring, and SLA-driven workflows; proactively troubleshoot failures and improve reliability.
ā¢ Implement robust data quality, validation, reconciliation, and governance controls across datasets.
ā¢ Lead small-to-medium pipeline enhancements, refactoring initiatives, and cost/performance optimization efforts.
ā¢ Collaborate with analysts and platform teams, mentor junior engineers, participate in reviews, and contribute to reusable EDP frameworks.
Requirements
ā¢ 3ā5 years of experience in Data Engineering.
ā¢ Strong hands-on experience with Python, Snowflake, DBT, and Apache Airflow.
ā¢ Solid understanding of SQL, data warehousing concepts, and ELT patterns.
ā¢ Experience working with large-scale, structured financial datasets.
ā¢ Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and agile delivery practices.
ā¢ Experience owning individual modules or pipeline components independently.
Nice-to-haves
ā¢ Experience in investment, risk, or financial data domains.
ā¢ Knowledge of performance tuning and cost optimization in Snowflake.
ā¢ Exposure to data quality frameworks and metadata management.
ā¢ Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
