About the position

As a Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager with various merchandising and freight processing tasks. Your responsibilities will include assisting with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager. You will be expected to perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager, ensuring that the store operates smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, you will assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash, while adhering to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines. In this position, you will maintain a professional and friendly environment for customers, subordinates, and supervisors. You will be responsible for maintaining all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to meet company standards. When the Store Manager is not present, you will have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates, ensuring that they are performing their duties effectively. You will also process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information requests, as well as any additional communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager. Your role will involve assisting the Store Manager with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures, and managing freight flow. Meeting or exceeding productivity standards will be a key expectation, along with assisting in ordering and stocking all merchandise needs, including frozen and refrigerated items. You will help maintain stockroom organization and ensure that the sales floor is sales effective on a daily basis, including planning and merchandising Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales effective items and implementing monthly Sales Planners.

Responsibilities

Requirements
• Prefer prior retail and management experience
,
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
,
• Ability to lift, bend and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs
,
• Ability to work in a high energy, team environment
