Membership Specialist
ANSI - American National Standards Institute is looking for a Membership Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of membership engagement. The role involves outreach, enrollment, retention, and ongoing support for members, while also coordinating with various teams to enhance membership initiatives.ResponsibilitiesPromote membership benefits through meetings/events, presentations, and digital outreachRespond to inquiries from prospective members and guide them through the enrollment processDevelop and support marketing campaignsWelcome new members, provide orientation materials, and ensure a smooth onboarding experienceServe as the primary point of contact for member questions, concerns, and service needsMaintain a high standard of customer service to build strong member relationshipsAssist in planning and executing member events, workshops, or programsConduct outreach to at‑risk or inactive members to encourage continued participationGather feedback to improve the member experience and recommend enhancementsWork closely with marketing, operations, finance, and program teams to support membership initiativesProvide insights to leadership on member needs, satisfaction, and opportunities for growthProcess new applications, renewals, cancellations, and account updates accurately and promptlyMaintain member records in CRMTrack membership metrics, prepare reports, and identify trends in engagement or retentionAttend/complete assigned information security training by the designated completion dateRead and adhere to published ISMS policies and proceduresReport timely any observed violations of ISMS policy - or known encroachments on information security - to your department leader and/or the Information Technology DepartmentSkillsA college degree or comparable work experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience in customer serviceAbility to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectivelyStrong trouble shooting skillsComfortable working with diverse populationsCreativeSelf-motivated and able to work independentlyA “team player” and able to work well with all staffAble to accept work assignments from more than one supervisor and work well under pressureStrong computer skills including proficiency in MS office suite, CRM or membership management software, Adobe Acrobat ExchangeGood writing and proofreading skillsSolid data entry skills with strong attention to detailCompany OverviewThe American National Standards Institute (ANSI) coordinates the development and use of voluntary consensus standards in the United States and represents the needs and views of U.S. It was founded in 1918, and is headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia, USA, with a workforce of 51-200 employees.
