Membership Administrative Coordinator
Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization focused on protecting the planet's wildlife and ensuring clean air and water for all. They are seeking a Membership Administrative Coordinator to provide customer service and administrative support to the Membership department, managing various tasks to ensure smooth operations and support high-level professionals.ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative support for the Managing Director of Membership, Senior Director, Membership Marketing & Mid-level Giving, and Membership Gift Officers including preparing expense reports and calendar managementWork alongside the Senior Membership Engagement Associate to respond to email inquiries about NRDC’s programmatic workProcess vendor invoices for NRDC's direct mail program, ensuring accurate tracking and timely payment, and assist with budget management and reporting for the Membership departmentReview direct mail materials and allocate joint costs in accordance with accounting guidelinesHelps to manage and update the Membership SOP documentation in collaboration with the team membersManage communications to members and supporters via the NRDC Action email mailbox and two telephone hotlinesCompile member comments and feedback from the NRDC Action email mailbox and report findings to Directors of Membership and Digital AdvocacyCoordinate special member stewardship communicationsLog daily interactions into the Membership Console case system in SalesforceCoordinate matching gifts and workplace giving in CRMSkillsHigh school diploma required1-3 years of relevant work experienceDemonstrated strong customer or member services skillsAbility to prioritize and efficiently execute multiple tasks, follow institutional procedures, and work independently with strong attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable speaking and interacting with NRDC members, donors, and the publicStrong organizational skills to prioritize and carry out multiple tasks requiring rapid turnaround and to follow institutional proceduresDemonstrated ability to perform or quickly learn new tasks, systems, and technologyStrong problem-solving skillsWillingness and flexibility to work paid overtime, when neededStrict adherence to confidentiality requirements and discretion with sensitive informationProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), in addition to ability to learn accounting and finance systems, as well as relevant NRDC specific software and platformsAbility to travel as needed to NRDC U.S. based officesEnthusiastic, warm attitude with a strong interest in assisting peopleCompetence with and commitment to diversity and inclusion; ability to be an effective partner with diverse colleagues, leaders and partnersCommitment to NRDC's mission, values, and DEI principlesAbility to function independently as well as work with a team in a collaborative environmentExperience in database management strongly preferredInterest in environmental or mission driven organizations also preferredBenefitsCompetitive salariesExcellent benefitsCompany OverviewNRDC is the nation's most effective environmental action organization.
