Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, is a 101 bed acute care community hospital. Monterey Park Hospital has provided our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 50 years. Monterey Park Hospital is recruiting for a Medical Transcriber - Pathology for our Laboratory Department. This position is full time for day shifts. This position reports to the Clinical Lab Director.
The Medical Transcriber's responsibilities include and are not limited to accurately transcribing pathology dictation using electronic dictation equipment, assuring correct spelling of medical terms and other words, utilizing accurate punctuation and grammar, maintaining equipment and supplies properly, accurately transcribing patient identification and physical identification on to all reports, demonstrating an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routines, procedures and skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly, giving attention to details, being attentive to record keeping and documentation to work performed and required paperwork inherent to the position, mailing appropriate reports to physician's offices, and maintaining work in a clear and organized manner.
Minimum of one year experience in accredited hospital clinical laboratory setting as a transcriptionist - preferred
