Medical Scribe

Remote Full-time
Description
β€’ Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for healthcare and a knack for accurate documentation? Frontier Dermatology, a leading and rapidly expanding group with 35 locations across Oregon and Washington, is seeking a highly motivated and exceptionally organized Medical Scribe to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the fast-paced world of dermatology, directly supporting our esteemed physicians and contributing to the seamless delivery of exceptional patient care.

β€’ As a Medical Scribe at Frontier Dermatology, you will be an indispensable member of our clinical support staff, working closely with our dermatologists to document patient encounters in real-time. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately and efficiently capture the details of each patient visit, including medical history, physical examination findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and any procedures performed. This critical function allows our physicians to dedicate more focused attention to patient interaction and clinical decision-making, thereby enhancing the overall patient experience and improving practice efficiency.

β€’ You will be privy to a wide range of dermatological conditions and treatments, gaining invaluable exposure to medical terminology, diagnostic processes, and therapeutic interventions. This role offers a profound learning experience for individuals aspiring to enter the medical field, providing a solid foundation in clinical documentation and healthcare operations. You will witness firsthand the complexities and rewards of dermatological practice, observing how diagnoses are made, treatment plans are formulated, and patient outcomes are achieved.

β€’ Key responsibilities will include:
β€’ Accurately and efficiently documenting patient history, physical examinations, and physician-patient encounters in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
β€’ Transcribing physician dictations, including diagnoses, treatment plans, and orders for medications, labs, and imaging studies.
β€’ Recording details of medical procedures, including surgical excisions, biopsies, and cosmetic treatments, ensuring all relevant information is captured.
β€’ Preparing and updating patient charts, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory standards.
β€’ Assisting physicians with various administrative tasks related to patient charting and documentation, such as ordering tests or referrals within the EHR.
β€’ Maintaining strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
β€’ Collaborating effectively with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
β€’ Familiarizing yourself with Frontier Dermatology's specific protocols, workflows, and EHR system to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
β€’ Proactively identifying opportunities to improve documentation processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of the clinical team.
β€’ Staying abreast of any updates or changes in medical terminology, diagnostic codes, or documentation requirements relevant to dermatology.

β€’ This role is ideal for individuals who possess exceptional listening skills, a strong command of the English language, and an unwavering commitment to accuracy. You will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure, while maintaining a high level of concentration and attention to detail. The ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing circumstances is paramount. Your contribution will directly impact the quality of care our patients receive and the operational effectiveness of our practice. By ensuring comprehensive and precise medical records, you empower our physicians to make informed decisions and provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.

β€’ Frontier Dermatology is committed to fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment. We believe in investing in our team members and providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. As a Medical Scribe, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team dedicated to patient well-being and professional excellence. This position offers a unique pathway for individuals passionate about healthcare to gain practical experience, develop critical skills, and contribute meaningfully to a respected medical practice.

β€’ We are looking for individuals who are not only skilled in documentation but also possess a professional demeanor, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn and grow within the healthcare industry. Your role as a Medical Scribe is foundational to our ability to provide efficient, high-quality dermatological care across all our locations. Join us and become a vital link in the chain of patient care at Frontier Dermatology.
