What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Maintain, organize, and safeguard patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients regarding medical records and care-related inquiries
- Educate patients on accessing their medical records and digital tools
- Coordinate with clinical staff and external providers to ensure seamless information flow
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to records management and patient experience
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate's degree in health information management or related field preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or patient services
- Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare privacy regulations
- Proficiency with EHR systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a clinical, hospital, or outpatient healthcare setting
- Familiarity with patient portals and digital engagement tools
- Certification such as RHIT or equivalent (a plus, not required)
