About the position

The Medical Receptionist, also known as the Medical Administrative Associate (MAA), plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by providing professional and courteous assistance to patients and customers. This position is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience, managing appointments, and maintaining patient confidentiality while adhering to established protocols and guidelines. The MAA contributes to the organization's goals of improving customer experience, health quality, and reducing care costs.

Responsibilities
• Greet and check in patients at the healthcare center.

• Verify coverage and eligibility, and complete appropriate paperwork.
,
• Request co-payment from patients politely and handle any disagreements professionally.
,
• Answer telephone calls in compliance with departmental procedures and route them appropriately.
,
• Obtain detailed information in messages and document in the E.H.R.
,
• Schedule appointments accurately and verify benefit coverage.
,
• Reconcile cash transactions at the end of each shift, including processing charge tickets and preparing bank deposits.
,
• Maintain necessary supplies for MAA activities in a fiscally responsible manner.
,
• Demonstrate a positive customer service approach in all internal and external customer experiences.

Requirements
• 1+ year of customer service experience required.
,
• PC skills required, including typing and scheduling application experience.
,
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
,
• Ability to convey information to customers in a warm, clear, concise manner.
,
• Demonstrates positive customer service behaviors.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in cash handling in a healthcare setting.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
