Medical Laboratory Technician - Lead Role - $20+ per hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at DMC University Laboratories in Detroit, Michigan. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in processing and testing specimens, reviewing and reporting lab results, and performing operational duties. This is a lead role, and you will be responsible for providing direction to other laboratory staff, maintaining procedure manuals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and test specimens, review and report lab results
Perform operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
Provide direction to other laboratory staff, including medical laboratory technicians and technologists
Maintain complete and up-to-date procedure manuals
Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory agencies
Serve as a point of contact for non-laboratory tests, as requested
Participate in staff evaluations and provide input on performance evaluations and competency evaluations
Assist in the interviewing of new employees
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology
Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS) within 12 months of hire
Ability to perform all duties as required of a Medical Technologist
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Leadership skills, including decision-making responsibilities, coaching, teaching, and counseling skills
