Medical Illustrator

The Medical Illustrator is responsible for producing medical illustrations and animations forstandalone use or in support of larger print, video, and interactive web works. This is a fulltimeremote position.With direction from experienced physicians and in collaboration with the team, translate medical illustration and animation requirements, including scope, to final deliverable items for project plansFollow iterative design processes and project plans, create and revise medical illustrations and animations using qualified digital toolsInside and outside formal planning processes, recommend creative approaches to designing materials for internal and external useDevelop and maintain a library of medical illustrations and animations for the purpose of archiving, auditing, and reuseAppropriately manage design projects with competing priorities and deadlinesContribute to the oversight of art and tool budgets in conjunction with other team membersContribute to the maintenance and content of PSI style guidesConduct ongoing research and report on emerging medical illustration trends, issues, and best practices to contribute to team innovation and expertise as well as inform revisions of iterative design processesOccasionally apply design skills to non-medical design projectsBachelor’s degree in Medical Illustration or Fine Art highly preferredBoard certification in Medical Illustration preferredFull working proficiency in EnglishFamiliarity, from a medical standpoint, with human physiology, anatomy, and majorsystems.Working knowledge of digital design and animation tools including demonstrableskill with the Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent tools.Working knowledge of design best practices regarding, but not limited to, usagerights, art budgeting, and production timelinesExperience with 2D and/or 3D animation is preferred but not requiredScanning and digital photography experience useful but not requiredAbility to participate in a dynamic environment that thrives on team-orientedcontributionsAbility to communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel.Advance your career in clinical research, coordinating a variety of tasks and learning new things while growing with the company.PSI is a leading CRO with more than 25 years in the industry, offering a perfect balance between stability and innovation to both clients and employees.
