We are seeking a qualified medical hospital and ambulatory surgery center Cardiology coding specialist to join an established and talented team. The qualified candidate will have experience coding cardiology procedures in a facility setting, be self-motivated, positive and detail oriented. Inpatient and outpatient hospital coding experience is a requirement for this position. Job functions include the following.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Quickly and Accurately code facility services for cardiology procedures in a Surgery Center and Office Based Lab facility.
• Understand and follow NCCI edits and bundling requirements for facilities
• Understand and follow implant charging and coding in facility setting
• Research and correct coding issues for proper payment independently
• Work directly with the billing department to effectuate smooth AR processes
• Write appeals for denials
• Identify trends and offer corrective action
• Work with administration to improve processes
• Represent MedHQ and its clients in a professional manner
• Maintain excellent customer service to both our clients and our provider's patients
• Other duties as assigned by manager
