Job Summary:
Obtains, analyzes, and logs medical documentation that shows the medical necessity of equipment and supplies to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
ย Reviews, obtains, and logs appropriate medical documentation which supports the reimbursement of equipment/supplies.
ย Completes, obtains, and logs ongoing documentation requirements for rental equipment.
ย Communicates with coworkers on status of documentation for which equipment that has been or will be dispensed.
ย Verifies and interprets patient insurance plans and benefits for new and continued need.
ย Maintains patient records in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid and Accreditation Standards.
ย Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
ย High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
EXPERIENCE
ย Two yearsย experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
ย Frequent... lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
ย Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
ย Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
ย Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
ย Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
ย Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
ย Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
ย Rare climbing.
