Medical Editor/Transcriptionist

SUMMARY The Medical Editor / Transcriptionist’s role is to provide medical editing / transcription services in a timely manner; thus meeting contracted TAT (turn around times) for LucidHealth and all clients of Premier Medical Transcription (PMT) as contracted. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Monitor workload on a FIFO (first in first out) basis. 2. Complete reports within contracted TAT. 3. Monitor Administration Module for signed reports. 4. Notify Operations of “no patient” orders. 5. Combine accession numbers when applicable. 6. Fax letters to specified physicians. 7. Transcribe physician correspondence and or chart notes on Interventional Radiology (IR) patients. 8. Research medication for Interventional letters. 9. Accurately transcribe dictated reports utilizing knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, diagnostic procedures, pharmacology and treatment assessments. 10. Monitor draft status of reports in PowerScribe admin module. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Establish and maintain good working relationships with physicians, management and co-workers. 2. Provide support to on-site radiologist as needed. 3. Completion of additional duties as requested. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS 1. A high school diploma or equivalent. 2. Advanced computer skills. 3. Postsecondary training in medical transcription as offered by vocational schools or community colleges or equivalent experience. 4. Medical transcription in radiology preferred. 5. Completion of a two year associate’s degree or one year certificate program including coursework in anatomy, medical terminology, legal issues related to healthcare documentation, English grammar and punctuation or equivalent experience. 6. Ability to multi-task to provide maximum efficiency. 7. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, management, staff and others. 8. Ability to meet productivity and quality requirements per shift. 9. Willingness to perform all duties as assigned.Apply Now
