Medical Data Entry Specialist (Part-Time)

Position Summary

The Medical Data Entry Specialist at Agape Family Health is responsible for charge entry and ensuring accurate, clean claim submissions to insurance carriers and/or patients across multiple specialties within the organization. This role supports the revenue cycle by following established workflows, maintaining data accuracy, and assisting in the resolution of basic claim issues to promote timely reimbursement.

Essential Functions
• Create and enter clean claims for each specialty across Agape Family Health.
• Ensure workflows are followed as directed for claim submission and communicate any outstanding issues to management.
• Clear basic claim holds that appear during the claim creation process.
• Verify that the correct insurance packages are attached to claims prior to submission.
• Review incoming correspondence and log information appropriately.
• Maintain accurate and organized billing documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of health insurance processes.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining confidentiality and strong organizational skills.
• Intermediate computer and data entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self-starter who is motivated and able to follow instructions independently.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in hospital access, physician offices, or billing and collections.
• Experience with Athena Health EMR preferred.
• Prior experience in medical billing or revenue cycle operations is a plus.
