Medical Coding Auditor - Remote | WFH

Are you passionate about ensuring accuracy and compliance in medical coding? We're looking for a detail-oriented Hospital Coding Auditor to join our team! In this key role, you'll help maintain high standards in our coding and billing practices, contributing to our hospital's financial health and compliance with industry regulations.

What You'll Do...

Review and Audit: Examine patient medical records and coding to ensure accuracy and adherence to coding standards and regulations (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).

Compliance and Accuracy: Verify that coding aligns with regulatory requirements and payer guidelines, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or errors.

Documentation: Create comprehensive audit reports and documentation to support findings, along with recommendations for improvements or corrections.

Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to coding staff on best practices, coding updates, and compliance issues.

Collaborate: Partner with healthcare providers, billing departments, and compliance officers to resolve coding issues and implement corrective actions.

Stay Updated: Keep up with changes in coding regulations, payer policies, and healthcare laws to ensure ongoing compliance.

Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement efforts by identifying trends, suggesting process enhancements, and supporting continuous education.

What We're Looking For

Certifications: CCS, CPC, and/or CIC Coding credential required.

Experience: At least 5-8 years in facility coding, with a minimum of 2 years in medical coding auditing.

Skills: Knowledge of coding compliance criteria for various patient encounters is preferred.

Technical Experience: Experience with HB Coding EPIC and 3M Systems is essential.

Geographical Note: Candidates from CA, NY, CO, NJ, IL, and HI are not eligible for this position.

Compensation And Benefits

Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 per year
