Job Summary
Are you a seasoned professional in medical billing with a passion for detail and organization? We're looking for an Independent Contractor with expertise in Oral Surgery, Orofacial Pain, Dental Sleep, and Medicare billing. You should be proficient in using medical software and have your own computer that meets our IT requirements. With at least 2 years of experience in medical insurance billing, you'll excel in claim submission, insurance payment posting, contractual adjustment posting, and appealing claims.
We value self-motivated individuals who excel at managing their time. In this role, you will support clients by collecting payments and diligently following up on outstanding medical claims.
Qualifications
Proven experience in medical billing with a focus on dental billing
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to effectively track and manage claims
Experience with reviewing denials and ensuring accurate explanations of benefits
Responsibilities
Review and submit accurate claims with appropriate modifiers to insurance companies, either electronically or using the 1500 form
Verify insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with provider contracts and patient benefits
Perform collection actions, including communication with clients and insurance companies via phone and online platforms
Utilize A/R reporting to review, appeal, and resolve unpaid and denied claims
Examine all denials and confirm the accuracy of the explanation of benefits or assist in resolving discrepancies

As an Independent Contractor, you will need to use your own computer that meets our IT requirements
Requirements
At least 2 years of dedicated billing experience with either Health Fusion or Advanced MD
A dedicated workspace, reliable computer, printer, and high-speed internet
Deep understanding of EOBs and proficiency in posting payments and adjustments
Ability to work independently, set effective goals, and stay self-directed
Highly disciplined and detail-oriented, with the ability to efficiently review account ledgers, payments, and EOBs
